Gardens in the Sky

In many large cities around the world, space is very limited. People live in tall apartment buildings and often do not have their own yards. However, a new trend called "rooftop gardening" is changing how city people interact with nature. This involves planting flowers, vegetables, and even trees on the roofs of buildings.

One of the main benefits of rooftop gardens is that they help keep buildings cool. Concrete roofs get very hot in the summer, which makes the inside of the building hot, too. Plants absorb sunlight and provide shade. This means people can use less air conditioning, which saves energy and money.

Another benefit is that these gardens improve the air quality. Cities often have problems with pollution from cars and factories. Plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen, making the air cleaner for everyone. Furthermore, growing vegetables on roofs allows people to eat fresh, healthy food without having to transport it from farms far away.
