School website: Saturday Market Survey The student council asked 100 students how they usually travel to the Saturday market. Forty said they walk, 30 ride bicycles, 20 use the bus, and 10 travel by car. The survey allowed each student to choose only one usual method. The council conducted it during lunch on Monday; the results do not necessarily represent all students in town.
Comments Hana: Walking is pleasant, and I enjoy talking with my neighbors on the way. I think a covered rest area would make the trip more comfortable on rainy days. Leo: I use my bicycle because I can carry vegetables in its basket. Last Saturday, all the bicycle spaces near the entrance were full. I had to leave mine farther away. Mina: The bus stop is close to my home, but the last bus leaves before the market closes. A later bus would let me stay longer.
Council note At our next meeting, we will discuss the suggestions. We have not yet decided whether the school can pay for any of them.
