Leaflet: Riverside Museum Student Volunteers
The museum offers three volunteer roles during its weekend history festival. No previous museum experience is required. Students receive a short training session before their first shift, and all roles involve working with a staff member. Applicants should choose a role that fits their availability and interests rather than simply choosing the longest shift.
| Role | Day and time | Main task | Minimum age |
|---|---|---|---|
| Welcome desk | Saturday, 9:00–12:00 | Answer questions at the entrance | 16 |
| Family workshop | Saturday, 13:00–16:00 | Help children make paper models | 15 |
| Archive helper | Sunday, 10:00–12:00 | Sort copies of old photographs | 16 |
To apply, send the online form by November 5. On the form, state your age, selected role, and available dates. We will email a decision by November 8. Applicants must not buy travel tickets until they have received acceptance. Accepted volunteers must attend training on November 12 from 17:00 to 18:00. The festival takes place on November 21 and 22.

Thank you for your interest. The family workshop is the only role where volunteers work directly with children. Materials and tools are provided, so volunteers should not bring their own craft supplies. For safety, every volunteer must wear closed shoes. We can lend an apron to anyone helping with the workshop. Please tell us if you cannot attend the training; we cannot offer a festival role without it.
Nao's Planning Note
I am fifteen and would like to help children learn something new. I have a music lesson on Saturday morning, but I am free after lunch and all day Sunday. I can attend the November 12 training. My sister has offered to lend me her apron. I have not applied yet, and I will read the museum's instructions again before I submit the form.
