Hillview Lunch Survey: Containers Brought from Home
The student council asked 120 students how often they brought a reusable lunch container during the previous school week. Each student chose one category. The survey did not ask about food quality, meal prices, or the reasons for choosing a container.
| Days using a reusable container | Students |
|---|---|
| 0 days | 36 |
| 1–2 days | 48 |
| 3–5 days | 36 |
Rina: I brought mine on three days. Washing it after school is easy for me. Reusable containers are the most attractive part of our lunch system, in my opinion.
Owen: I used mine on two days because I forgot it twice and bought lunch once. A reminder by the door might help me, but my experience cannot explain what all the other students did.
Council note: Next month we will put a reminder near the school entrance and repeat the same question. We will report whether the distribution changes. Without asking students why they changed, we should not assume that a change was caused by the reminder alone.
How many surveyed students used a reusable container on at least one day?
Which statement expresses an opinion rather than a reported fact?
Which conclusion is supported by this survey alone?
