I went to the new Impressionist exhibit last weekend. As an art student, I was most excited about the Monet paintings, and they were incredible. Seeing Degas's Dancers up close was also a highlight. The lighting in the gallery was perfect. My friend, who isn't an art student, also enjoyed it.
My only complaint was the "Meet the Curator" talk. I thought it was free with admission, so I just showed up at 2:00 PM on Saturday. A staff member told me it was "reservation only" and "full." They should really make this clearer on the main poster, as it was a big disappointment.
Overall, the exhibit itself was great value with the $10 student discount. The gift shop was overpriced, in my opinion, but the exhibit is definitely worth visiting. I suggest going on a weekday if you want to avoid the crowds!
