The Missing Slide

My exchange partner, Liam, and I had to present our survey about school lunches. I prepared the slides about Japan, while Liam prepared the slides about his home country.

The night before the presentation, Liam sent me a message saying that his final slide was missing. I assumed he had forgotten to make it and quickly wrote a replacement. In the morning, however, he looked surprised when I showed it to him.

Liam explained that he had saved the slide in a different folder because he wanted to add one more chart. He had not asked me to replace it. We compared both versions and found that each showed a different part of the survey.

We combined the charts and practiced the transition between them. The presentation went well. I learned that acting quickly can be useful, but checking what a partner actually needs is even more important.
